In this unit, we carved a design into a linoleum block. In order to make these designs have two colors, two reductions must be made to the block. The reductions are made using carving tools like the v-tool and the u-tool. V-tools make precise lines while u-tools are used to remove large areas of the block. After carving the first design, we used colored ink and rolled it on to the design using a brayer. Next we printed the design onto paper. Then we carved the second design into the block followed by the repetition of applying ink and printing onto the paper.
